Charlotte's Web

Several people have joined in the Charlotte's Web Knit Behind recently and have asked about where to find the yarn and the pattern. The yarn is Koigu's Painter's Palette Premium Merino. It looks like this:

[This is yarn from Threadbear, on their Crowing Ram blog, my first choice below.]

You need 5 skeins to make Charlotte's Web. There is no substitute that I know of for this yarn. It's unique, it's beautiful. If you have to, go ahead and order it. There are several places that carry it online. The first is Threadbear. It's a wonderful shop run by two great guys. At Threadbear you'll always get a good price - the owners go the distance to ensure value. They usually carry the pattern, too, but I haven't seen it recently - you'll need to inquire. Next is Apple Laine, another great place that carries the yarn and the pattern. At Apple Laine the pattern is cheaper if you buy the yarn at the same time. Another nice supplier is Mannings - they also carry the pattern and the yarn. The downside is that their site is a little hard to navigate and there are no pictures. It's a quality establishment though, and you can always find the pics elsewhere. Finally, there's Purlsoho, a cute little place in NYC that is currently sponsoring Knitty, which puts them on the good list in my book! Those are the places I know of, all reputable and run by nice folks. The choice is yours!

I've been trying to get to Threadbear to order my yarn for Charlotte, and they are just so busy that they are not responding to my inquiries! None of the yarn shops in my area carry a decent selection of colors in this yarn to chose from, so I'm sort of at a loss as to what to do!
