Needed: Rowan Cotton Glace, Shade 810 (Splendor), Dye Lot 8K2

I know this is a long shot, but I am making this cardigan:

With this yarn:

I have a body, a sleeve and all but a few rows of a second sleeve, but I have no more yarn - yikes! Rowan lied to me. I was suspicious when they said that the vest version of this sweater would take 6 skeins of cotton glace and the cardigan would require only 7. Even with 3/4 sleeves that seemed skimpy. Still, I hoped against hope because I love this beautiful french blue color and I wanted the version with sleeves. We only had 7 skeins in stock at the Knit Cafe, so there wasn't an option to buy an 8th skein. Anyway, here I am for the very first time in my knitting history without enough yarn to finish, and I am begging any and everyone to check their stashes and see if they happen to have this color and this dye lot of cotton glace. If not, I can get ahold of it in the wrong dyelot pretty easily, but I'd really rather not if I can avoid it. If you have anywhere from a half skein to a skein that you'd be willing to part with, drop me a note in the comments. I'm willing to pay or trade. I've got good stash! Here's hoping!

There is a list, my mom knows it, that you can post dye lots, etc. My mom did it for Kidsilk Haze and got it. I will ask her tomorrow.

This could be a long shot, but perhaps a contact at Rowan (since you worked at the Knit Cafe) can be contacted and they can look up which stores the dye lot was sent to? I am sure that if they heard your story they would try to help. I would think they have a list somewhere of which dye lots go to certain stores. Just a thought incase you hadn't already thought of it. Good luck!

Good luck finding it. I ran out of yarn on a dale sweater on the bind off row. It is currently bound off in a different color :( Until I can unpack all my stuff and find my swatch then I can go back and rebind off 10 stitches. (So I'm not as much of a bind as you, but I totally feel your pain.)

Hi Julia-- Sorry I cant help you. I am always so paranoid about running out of yarn. I dont mind mixing 2-rows each of different dyelots, but I know it doesnt always work well on super-solid colors like cotton glace. I love that pattern, by the way, and have been eyeing it since I got the big Rowan treasury.
BTW, I started my own little blog. You can check it out if you want!

Sorry I can't help...I'm amazed though that someone can...kudos, Jill...I guess rowan makes big lots.
Why is the same dyelot so important? this isn't a hand dyed yarn is it? Go read Fluffa...she mentioned something aboutt his in one of her recent posts.

I have that dye lot, but not a full ball of it. Shoot me an email and we'll see if you can use it.
