New Wallpaper

Wallpaper.jpg Bob Marley's Grandma's Footies - cute, eh?

Dear All,

Since life has caught up with this Mind of Winter to the point where blogging hasn't been feasible, I thought that at the very least I could leave you with some decent wallpaper in my absence. Don't worry - this isn't goodbye for the blog or anything so drastic. I'm just working some hellacious hours and most if not all of the knitting I've been doing is for publication and therefore not sharable at this point.

The footie pictured above is one that I whipped up a few months ago from the leftovers of my sock pal's koigu. As soon as I finish the other one I'll write up the pattern to share, but really all there is to it is a little shortening up of your basic sock pattern.

Thanks so much to all of you who manage to stop by and leave notes even when I'm not posting regularly. It means a lot to me that people care about the blog (and me!) enough to check in and see how things are going. Please know that I am well, just very, very busy. It will probably take a little longer to get back to the point where my house is in order and I can resume regular blogging, but know that until then I will be checking in on all of you as well. See you soon!

xox, J

Cute sock! I just knit my first footie and loved it! I am in the middle of a second pair right now! The color you used is great.

I've knit so many socks...but this is the length I would knit if I were to knit socks again. Very cute!

Life just gets in the way & it's OK. :-)
Good luck to you Julia!

Lovely sock! your blog schedule works fine with
my schedule =)
so many things to knit, so little time.

Bout time you changed the scenery around here...I was worrying that you had "distappeared" (sorry, I have a six year old) for good. Which would be...not good.

I'm amazed that anyone who is knitting for design purposes can ever post anything at all, so kudos for checking in, and it's really nice to see your feet ;-) Bob's Grandma would be proud, I'm sure. Sounds like you are working the Day AND the Night Shift...but..."if you make me move, then you know you got the groove..." Think I'll go make a sock in your honour. Take good care!

Don't work too hard! We miss you!

I want to tell you what a breath of fresh air your blog is to me. I discovered it a couple of months ago and even though you haven't been writing regularly, whenever I feel stressed in my day, I often pull up your site and snoop around for a few minutes and -- poof! -- I feel relaxed and on track again. Your patterns have a lovely aura about them -- sort of a "feel good femininity" and I look forward to seeing more of them. Remember to breathe!

Thanks for posting - I've been wondering ...

Enjoy life and blog when it's right for you. Looking forward to seeing your knitted secrets.

You would think that as spring finishes and summer rounds the corner, that most of us would get less busy. Not so - and I completely understand your absence. But that doesn't mean I don't miss your knitting content! Can't wait to see more - published or not!

Whew! I was really worried that you'd disappeared for good, and that would have made me sad. I'm also mired in insane hours right now, and I know how sucky it feels. Keep sane, and be good to yourself!

The socks are lovely. Glad to hear your doing well...I was begining to wonder what had happened to you!

Glad to hear you are well and hard at work on a secret project. Hopefully, we'll see it published soon enough. Looking forward to the Koigu pattern!

Hope the busy-ness is good busy-ness. Take your time and let life settle some. Your patterns are worth the sacrifice :)

Cute socklettes. They make me think of the pom-pom socks I used to have as a kid, only these are far nicer.
I'll definitely be waiting with baited breath for the next M.O.W. post. :)
