I have to tell you, I'm so used to seeing in-depth explanations with all posts that I had a moment (or longer) where I feared your CSS had gone awry and all the text was obscured in your post. I literally had to review your source code to be sure I wasn't missing the text here. Love the piece, can't wait to try it on. Lana - I haven't been able to try the skirt on - that is the first half! I did try on the prototype prior to starting it, and it fits like a dream. It seems to fit a real array of body types, too, so I'm surprised to hear that yours didn't fit. Did you make gauge? Are you sure it's the right size? I'll keep you posted on the final fit. Posted by: Julia at August 20, 2006 06:30 PMHow did the skirt fit? I knitted this in another yarn (no Twisted Sisters Daktari n Australia) but the size was not quite right. Posted by: Lana at August 20, 2006 04:15 PMOk, if you finish that before Oregon, you must let me try it on :) Posted by: Marnie at August 17, 2006 12:23 PMWow, I can't wait to see it on you when it's finished! You're right, it really is perfect. Posted by: Lystessa at August 16, 2006 05:28 PMI am drooling...Daktari is gorgeous. Enough to make me get kinda choked up! It really is beautiful. Posted by: Ida at August 16, 2006 04:24 PMKat - there is plenty of yarn, so don't worry! The lace portion of the skirt eats up yardage - because it is wider and because it is lace. The first skein got me to about 1" past the lace. The second skein finished the first side off and is carrying me into the second side's lace. All is well! I feel so unoriginal using the same yarn in the same color and following the pattern exactly, but it's just perfect this way. I always modify everything. Here, the only thing I'm doing differently is simply threading ribbon through and nixing the bows. It's a credit to you that the pattern is PERFECT as is. It is also completely mistake-free. I love the yarn. I'm going to wear this thing to death. xox, Oooh! SO pretty! The detail is gorgeous. I want to touch it! Posted by: Nonnahs at August 16, 2006 10:53 AMlooking good! I really loved that yarn, the weight and texture and the color. A few months ago I swatched for another skirt with a heart lace pattern. maybe sometime next year i can make it. Oh My! That is going to be beautiful:-) Posted by: Janine at August 16, 2006 08:49 AM |
