March 16, 2007Knits in Action: BondI really love the idea of knits in action posts, but here's the thing: It's really hard to make them look more candid than my photo shoots, because typically I take my shots early in the morning and I am dressed exactly as I will be for the day. Although I have occasionally dolled it up a little more for you guys, for the most part I try to look as I really will. Moxie and I love to take photos, as well, so our "candid" shots aren't much more candid than our staged ones. I'm pretty practiced with the self-timer, so unless we get fancy with the location, I usually take my own pictures, as well.
Bond is a great layering basic. I let a little orange frill peek out from underneath. I decided the best way to give you a really candid photo would be to take pictures of myself getting ready for work (I have a very casual office). So here I am, freshly showered in my hair turban. If you don't have one of these, you need one. It's the best method I know for keeping wet hair up and making it dry naturally faster. You gotta love the turban. Oh, Julia, that sweater looks marvelous on you! Beautiful! Posted by: Emily S. at March 17, 2007 12:13 PMMmm, that is a cute sweater. Love it with the orange - and are those green pants? Woohoo! Even better! I really need to get a turban! Posted by: Abby at March 17, 2007 06:46 AMLove the sweater! and on another note... I found this awesome slideshow/article on msn today... hope the link works! http://openfordesign.msn.com/default.aspx?id=5tech1_wertheim>1=9166 Posted by: Sarah at March 16, 2007 08:19 AMI wash my hair at night and let it air dry so drying faster isn't too big a deal for me, but it is a lot less towel to wash than the full size bath towel I usually use on my hair. Bond looks tres chic. Posted by: Marnie at March 16, 2007 07:49 AMThe hair turban is awesome! I have one and it's the best thing ever. I have been known to go outside with it on my head (not far, just to get the mail or sit on the back porch). I have two of them because I "stole" my sister-in-laws (I thought it was mine and I had left it at her house, but then I got home and there was mine....oops). What can I say.....I hadn't seen mine in months and I was desperate. Much love to the turban!!! Posted by: Sam at March 16, 2007 04:59 AMThe hair turban, you say? Hmmm...Wondering if that might be a solution to the "pain free use of the ball winder" problem I have. No matter what feat of engineering & architecture I construct, the waist-length hair seems to escape and before I know it...OUCH! But the hair turban... that looks promising.
