April 01, 2007Memories...Okay, I'm being a little dramatic, but since it's 5:30 a.m. and I just get to post, shower and go back to work, I am waxing poetic about the "good old days" when I used to have my weekends. Like, say, last weekend. Here's a little montage from Eaton Canyon, where we did the Marseilles photo shoot on Moxie's birthday.

I do love the mosaics you post here Posted by: Orli at April 4, 2007 04:40 AMWhat a beautiful location. I have a soft spot for waterfalls. And I love that sweater. Great color! Posted by: Hattie at April 3, 2007 12:20 PMWhat a wonderful location! And congrats on your finished Marseilles - very nice! Posted by: disentangled at April 3, 2007 06:37 AMI've had times at work when it felt like every daylight hour was spent indoors. What great memories you have to carry you through those days. Marseilles is gorgeous! Truly lovely!! Posted by: Leah at April 2, 2007 10:23 AMYay, how fun. Look at that Zosh! I've had to work on my days off the last couple weeks, so I think I know how you feel. It'll get better. Hang in there! Posted by: Nonnahs at April 2, 2007 09:53 AMHi Julia, Thanks for the kind comments over at my blog. I don't have the source pattern for that baby blanket readily available, but I'll try to dig it up. It came from one of those generic "101 Beautiful Baby Blankets" type books that you find at Michaels. BTW, I love your photos! Michelle Posted by: Michelle at April 2, 2007 08:06 AMBeautiful pictures, Julia! Having been swamped, for the most part, with work and still treading water, I can relate. My spinning wheel and I stare longingly at each other, but that's about it. Posted by: Lee Ann at April 2, 2007 04:52 AMWow! What an amazing place! It must feel so great to be there. Nature is very generous over at Eaton Canyon. Even the cactus looks embrassing. Great pics! Posted by: Marie at April 1, 2007 11:39 PMLove that waterfall, especially with Zosia in the foreground! I guess the next best thing to relaxing is looking at pretty, relaxing pictures. Posted by: Emily S. at April 1, 2007 10:20 PMZO! So cute. Weekends will come back to you soon. I'm sure of it :) Posted by: Marnie at April 1, 2007 08:10 PMWonderful photos, Julia! I like the mustard and the waterfall especially. You've laid them out so nicely too. Thanks for sharing! Posted by: Dalila at April 1, 2007 06:25 PMAh, yes, the fleeting and elusive weekends. I think that's why we savor them so much. Love the pictoral. Posted by: Leslie at April 1, 2007 12:24 PMCirilia - That is exactly what I did for birch. See my pattern notes here. Hi! I found your Birch modifications through a Google search and I have a 'dumb question' for you...your cast on # included the repeat plus 6..did you have a 3 stitch border on all the edges? I looked up Fern Lace in my stitch dictionaries and it states that the repeat is 10 stitches+1. It's been years so I'll understand if you don't remember, just wanted to check. Thanks in advance for any help! Posted by: Cirilia at April 1, 2007 10:35 AMBeautiful photographs, what lovely scenery! No wonder you wish you were back to last weekend. The pink sweater really pops in those surroundings. Posted by: LaurieM at April 1, 2007 08:16 AMgreat shots! i can completely empathize with you. i have periods of time when work takes over for several weeks and i miss knitting SO MUCH. i try to remind myself how great it will feel to sit down and knit again once the craziness subsides. plus, pics like these do a good job at subsiding the blues! good luck getting through the craze :) Posted by: jody at April 1, 2007 08:13 AMHopefully your work overload will end soon? It looks like a beautiful hike, and I'm glad you shared the pictures with us. Posted by: Amy at April 1, 2007 07:21 AM |
