April 24, 2007And its not even dark yet...Ooooo La La! This is the candid shot I took at ye olde crack of dawn this morning. The After Dark Nightie still needs straps, but otherwise she's ready to go - too cool! ![]() MDK's ADK is so hot it can transform the glasses and "morning" face - impressive! The weekend was great, though not as relaxing as the Moxie and the Hoolia needed it to be. Photo montage soon. Once again, work has got me chasing my tail like a silly pup! Totally Hottttttt. Posted by: elizabeth at April 25, 2007 05:56 PMThe nighty looks great! I like your previous post on the knitting machine. I don't have one, but for a project like this I can see how handy it is! Posted by: Katie at April 25, 2007 04:54 PMYou get the award for the smokin' hottest knitblog I've read all day! Posted by: Liz K. at April 25, 2007 04:34 PMI have followed your blog for a while from here Downunder. Your knitting and designs are quite simply beautiful and your latest is stunning. I did want ask a question about one of your older knits. Did you add any length to your Audrey? - I am also knitting it (somewhat belatedly) in Jaeger extra fine merino and wanted it a little longer than shown in the magazine - yours looks perfect. I usually knit XS but it was looking a bit small so wondered about upsizing - does it stretch at all? I hope you don't mind me picking your brains. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hi Leone - I did knit my Audry a bit long (though not on purpose! I underestimated the effect of the rib!) You should definitely wash and block a swatch to check what the growth will be, because the sweater will grow - I did my initial blocking with steam and had less growth, but as soon as Audrey got a real bath she grew even more. If you take all of that into account, though, you'll end up with a wonderful sweater. I still wear mine a lot! Posted by: Leone at April 25, 2007 02:41 PMThat is HOT! It really looks sultry with the 'morning' face :o) Not much else can be said. Posted by: Sarah at April 25, 2007 05:31 AMWOW...I can see now why a knitting maching would come in handy...but oh so worth it. This is FAB. Hubba-hubba, my dear! Very nice! Posted by: Jen. at April 25, 2007 03:06 AMwell, you look so beautiful in your sexy nighty, wish my body shape was as gorgeous as yours! I thought about using my knitting machine for the st st part of this beauty, thanks for your ideas. short rows are a doddle on the knitting maching as long as you can set your carriage to hold, which I reckon you can if you can do slipstitch. CAR pull out all but one of the stitches you need to hold from the left hand side (always the side oposite the carriage direction)slide carriage across until it has gone past the held stitches then simply pull out one more and knit back and this wraps the stitch. It's worth practicing this holding technique but it does become second nature in the end! Hope this helps....Marianne Posted by: Marianne at April 24, 2007 10:53 PMIt looks amazing! Posted by: Romi at April 24, 2007 10:46 PMToo, too sexy. It looks good on you girl! Posted by: LaurieM at April 24, 2007 07:27 PMYow-ser!! That's some outfit. You do it proud. I've a bridal shower to attend in a few months, and I may just have to knit one of those up for her trousseau! Posted by: reluctantmango at April 24, 2007 06:05 PMOoooo, sexy! Posted by: Ellen at April 24, 2007 04:17 PMOh wow! Very nice, dear Julia. You make what at first seems like a crazy idea--knitting a nightie--suddenly seem very reasonable. In fact, you make it look like a very good idea, indeed. [I bet Moxie thinks so too-- :) ] Posted by: kodachrome at April 24, 2007 04:06 PMSMOKIN' HOT! A triumph of foxiness! Bon freakin' voyage, Julia! Posted by: ann at April 24, 2007 03:21 PMIf that didn't make the husband's day-and night-he needs...something...like little blue pills. That is one sexy photo of you (she said in a totally straight-girl way). Posted by: lori at April 24, 2007 02:35 PMOooh, what a great sexy piece! And saying it "needs straps," well, that seems like a matter of preference... I might just leave it alone. Easier to take off that way. ;) Posted by: Joanna at April 24, 2007 01:33 PMVery fetching, indeed, and in record time! Posted by: Leslie at April 24, 2007 01:04 PMCute! Posted by: Marnie at April 24, 2007 12:18 PMLooks great - LOVE the color! Posted by: Cara at April 24, 2007 12:16 PMWhile the nightie is super fab, what makes that shot sexy for a knitter is the yarn peeking out of the corner... Well done, Julia! Posted by: Elspeth at April 24, 2007 12:15 PMi get to comment first!!! very sexy, i have envy for both your shape and your speed on completing the nightie. i made it past the lace and am on the mindless st-st which is good right now b/c i have very little to go on ...hanging onto the beans by a thread and not feeling too great about it. i have your number in my phone and will ring with news once there is some. did you get april snow on your trip? looking forward to the photos.
