This is a revised pdf version of my 2005 El Hatto Negro design, offered in six sizes from infant to man-sized. If you find any mistakes or unclear instructions, please let me know. I cannot provide extensive support for my free patterns or give instructions on the basic techniques that are required to execute them due to time constraints, but I am happy to clarify anything that may be confusing in the pattern. I hope that you enjoy the pattern and can get many a warm, well-loved hat out of it!

Thanks so much for pdf of this amazing hat pattern. It has become my go-to hat to make for friends of my son who are now going in college where the weather is not like California. You are going to love having a son--they love their mothers! Griffin looks just like his mama--enjoy every minute!

Thank you so much for the hat pattern!! Son - son in law and even little Luke will get hats for Christmas! You little baby is a cute little fella - they grow so fast! My little grandson is 6 months old -and like your little fella - he is approaching 30 inches - He has not much choice with a mother 6 feet tall and a dad 6 -4. I can barely keep up with him! Of course - every thing I see I want to make for him - that could be a problem!

Oh thanks for this pattern, Julia. It's great timing as December holidays (gifts!) draw near, and as my guy and I prepare to head back to chilly Canada!.

BTW: your boys are so beautiful.

And one more thing: YES WE DID!
